Torel Avantgarde: the new five-star hotel in Porto
Torel Avantgarde is a 5-star boutique hotel. The opening is set for the beginning of September and it is now possible to reserve rooms as of the 9th of September.
Located on Rua da Restauração, 500 meters from the Clérigos Tower, Torel Avantgarde is the result of the restoration of a building from the 1940s. The aim of the Torel Boutiques group was to create something completely new in which art is the focus of the attention. According to the website the hotel "It is a space to live art, to touch art, and to feel the heart and passion of the artist."

The hotel collaborated with four Portuguese artists, all from Porto, Jorge Curval, Frederico Draw, Daniel Eime and Paulo Neves. This work is integrated in several areas of the hotel, in addition the hotel will hold exhibitions with works by several Portuguese artists.
The hotel offers a total of 47 rooms, 20 of them suites and 37 with a view of the river and Gaia. There are 6 room categories: Royal Suite, Premier Suite, Master Suite, Premier, Executive and Classic. Each of the rooms honors famous avant-garde artists from Francis Bacon, Charles and Ray Eames, Amadeu Souza-Cardoso to Ignazio Jacometti through the design and decoration of the space.

Torel Avantgarde also has a restaurant called Digby dedicated to high level Portuguese food. The hotel also offers a spa service with gym, Turkish bath and two massage rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and terraces. It is also available for hosting meetings and events.
The space has already begun to accept reservations for as of September 9, if you do it now you can enjoy a 15% discount. Prices start at 200€ per night.
