It opened in 2013 and is part of the Mercado Bom Sucesso zone. It was the first cycle-cafe to be inaugurated in the city of Porto.

The idea came from the two partners, Pedro Pacheco and Daniela Macedo, who had the desire to open an establishment where they could combine in the same space one of their passions (the bicycles) with the growing interest in the restaurant sector. The "European fashion" of the cycle-cafes arrived in the summer of 2013, in the center of Porto with the Urban Cicle Café, integrated in the renewed Bom Sucesso Market. The first of its kind.

Pedro is a lover of bicycles and Daniela is an architect by profession. Both had already had a consummate relationship with the bicycles business, having another store in the Industrial Zone of Porto. "I was thrilled with the design of this store and with the design of the space and how it could appeal to people," says Daniela to Porto Tasty.

Miguel Esteves Cardoso has written a chronicle about the space for the newspaper PÚBLICO (you can read it here). Brunch is already a product of choice and one of the best known. Increasingly integrated into the consumption habits of the Portuguese, this type of meal, intended to be a mixture of breakfast and lunch, came to stay. And it is at the weekends, especially on Saturday, that he is king in the Boavista space.

But if it is not for fashions, the space has more to offer, from ham toasties with arugula and mozarella, salmon with curd, salads with fetti cheese, a series of other breakfasts, crepes with ice cream, honey or blueberries, among others.

In addition, there are Wi-Fi, magazines and rent-a-bike service. You can also buy your own bike, with Urban Cicle Café under its own brand, and the customer can get involved in customizing it. If you need to inflate the tire or change the chain know that it is also possible, since there is a workshop at the top, with a mechanic. There is also the possibility of requesting domiciliary service.

"We have all kinds of customers: many tourists, we have many executives for lunch. There is no customer prototype," says Daniela.

The Urban Cicle Café is open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 8pm. Sunday is closed.
